The Girl with a Pearl Earring

The De Young Museum in San Francisco was hosting a Dutch masters exhibit which included the Girl with a Pearl Earring.  Seeing as the painting will be heading back to Amsterdam after the exhibit closes, my mom and I felt it was worth it to see it in person.

After our museum visit, my mom and I stopped off at our favorite French soul food restaurant on Polk Street, Brenda's, for some gumbo and beignets (absolutely worth the calories).

I decided to try out a pair of thigh high socks with some J Crew shorts, a pair of penny loafers, and my sister's J Crew top which our mom accidentally shrunk, thus finding its way into my closet.  Once we took to the streets, I threw on a baggy canvas jacket the I picked up at Nordstrom's redesigned Savvy department.

The museum also had a fantastic textile exhibit.  The bored expression is actually just poor timing on my lovely photographer's part.  Both Exhibits were really fantastic!
